2 Great Plugins to Optimize and Backup WordPress Database Tables

A clean and tidy database tables will definitely help any wordpress blog to load its’ pages faster. But it is important to deal with it safely, specially when it is a database file.

Earlier, I have read some solutions for organizing wordpress database file, but none of them come close by what I was looking for. One guy was saying that, turning the option off for saving page revisions will keep the database clean, one other was explaining how to get rid of old page revisions and previously saved options data.

Both of them were showing some kind of coding hack on wordpress installation files without promising on my next wordpress update would work fine, come on!

Well, of course I could use that hacking methods and restore old files back, before the update, then I could hack again. There is no sense.

But I was looking for a solution to keep my database tidy, meanwhile I didn’t like the idea of loosing previous post revisions and my older wordpress options. I would like to keep them safe, just in case. After a research I have found two great plugins that I would like to share,

First plugin is for backing up my database. Then I run the second plugin to clean up the actual database file in use. This way I do not dump any old data or inactive plugin options. I also don’t use any hack either normally or by using a plugin, but I keep my database clean and tidy. The result is great, you can see my pages load fast.
